Welcome Home, Baby Roman | In-Home Newborn Session

There are some stories that just feel full circle — and this is one of them.

I first met Travis back in first grade. Life took us in different directions, as it tends to do, and we hadn’t crossed paths in years… until he and my husband started working part-time jobs together a few years ago and instantly hit it off.

Fast forward to this spring, and I had the absolute honor of stepping into Travis and Danielle’s home to photograph their newest little love — baby Roman — alongside his beaming big sister, Charlotte, and their loyal pup, Bentley.

From the moment I walked in, the love in their home was undeniable. Danielle and Travis are the kind of parents who radiate warmth and gentleness, and their joy in welcoming Roman into their family was written all over their faces.

We spent most of our session in Roman’s beautifully designed nursery, inspired by a cozy family cabin — the perfect peaceful setting for such a calm and content little guy. Roman was the perfect gentleman: he didn’t fuss, took a great nap, paused for a snack, and then happily soaked in all the newness around him.

And Charlotte — oh, sweet Charlotte. She was so excited to show off her baby brother. She held him proudly, helped wherever she could, and smiled from ear to ear the entire time.

Bentley, the ever-faithful dog brother, made a few appearances, too — always nearby, keeping an eye on the action and ensuring his little pack was all safe and sound.

Getting to photograph these quiet, joyful, ordinary-but-extraordinary moments is truly one of the greatest gifts. And when it’s a family I’ve known — in some form — for most of my life? That makes it even more meaningful.

Travis, Danielle, thank you for welcoming me into your home. Your family is beautiful, and it was such an honor to help preserve this sweet season of life.
