The Most Colorful Send-Off: Holiday Mini Sessions at the Tree Farm

Every photo season has its final chapter—and this one ended with a bang (and a disco ball 🪩).

This year’s holiday mini sessions took place at Heritage Tree Farm, and they were everything I hoped they’d be and more. A super colorful vintage truck, twinkly holiday energy, and families who showed up ready to have fun. Truly my favorite kind of people.

Every single family leaned in. The outfits were on point. The vibes were joyful. Kids were giggling, parents were laughing, and the whole afternoon felt playful, festive, and full of life. These sessions are meant to feel like a celebration—not stiff or forced—and this group absolutely understood the assignment.

And then… there was that family.

One family showed up in full 1970s glory—dad in a wig, disco balls in hand, and zero hesitation. It was iconic. I couldn’t stop smiling behind the camera. And honestly? I wouldn’t expect anything less from my own family photographer, Melissa Engle Photography. When creatives trust creatives, magic tends to happen.

Day two brought an extra-special full-circle moment: I got to photograph the tree farm owners themselves. Getting to turn my camera toward the people who make this place so special felt like such an honor—and the sweetest way to wrap up the sessions. The ones who create the magic behind the scenes finally stepped into it, and I loved every second.

These holiday minis felt like the perfect punctuation mark on this year’s photo season. Colorful. Joyful. A little nostalgic. A reminder that photos can be meaningful and fun—and that sometimes the best memories are made when you fully lean in.

I left those days tired in the best way, heart full, already nostalgic.

And that’s how you know it was a good one.

Holiday minis may be wrapped for the year, but if you’re dreaming up something fun, bold, nostalgic, or just a little unexpected for the future—I’m always here for it. Keep an eye out for next year’s sessions… you never know what magic is coming next. Or reach out now to plan your own session.
