As Long as There's a Song to Sing: A Very Special 65th Anniversary Session for the Horns at the Fulton Steamboat Inn in Ronks, PA

There are some love stories that read like a beautiful melody—timeless, enduring, and full of harmony. The story of Bill and Joan Horn is one of those melodies, and it was an absolute joy to capture a chapter of it as they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

Bill and Joan met in high school, and from the very beginning, music and dance played a central role in their lives together. They spent many years performing across the world, sharing stages and creating memories that would last a lifetime. So, it was only fitting that we marked this incredible milestone at the Fulton Steamboat Inn in Ronks, PA, a place where Bill's music still fills the air with warmth and joy as he plays piano at the hotel's Huckleberry's Restaurant & Tavern.

Throughout our session, the love and camaraderie between Bill and Joan were on full display, but not without their signature sense of humor. They joked that they don’t usually stand or sit so close together, and they were sure their families would know these photos were “staged.” It was a playful reminder that, even after all these years, they still know how to keep each other laughing. I’ve always known Bill to be a bit of a jokester, and it was wonderful to see that lightheartedness shine through during our time together.

As we walked around the hotel property with their sweet greyhound, Loni, the evening couldn’t have been more perfect. The golden hour sun peaking through the trees provided a beautiful backdrop to the love story that has spanned decades. The Horns have been devoted greyhound owners for many years, and their love for these gentle creatures is as strong as their love for each other. They’ve even made it a mission to support greyhound rescue efforts, helping to give these dogs the loving homes they deserve.

Being a part of this special day meant the world to me. Mrs. Horn was my dance teacher from the time I was in first grade, and she poured so much of her heart into her students. Capturing these moments for her and Bill was a way for me to give back to someone who has given so much to me and so many others.

This year is extra special for the Horns, as Bill is also celebrating 70 years in show business. His talent, charisma, and humor are as vibrant as ever, and I encourage everyone to check out the article about him in the newspaper. He’s lived a life full of music and joy, and it’s clear that, as long as there’s a song to sing, he’ll be right there at the piano, sharing his gift with the world.

To Bill and Joan—thank you for letting me be a part of your beautiful journey. Here’s to 65 years of love, laughter, and music, and to many more notes yet to be played. Happy anniversary!
