Recently, I had shared an image on my Instagram story that really spoke to me. It said “There are people less qualified than you, doing the things you want to do, simply because they decide to believe in themselves. Period.” Wow. Even now, that seems a little like a punch in the gut. I explained that I’ve been wanting to get back into photography but always doubt myself. Nicole replied to my story and said if I did want to get back into it, that she would like to get photos taken of herself and her kids. Sold!
I’ve known Nicole and her brothers for a long time. We used to ride the bus together in middle school and high school. One of her older brothers was even my walking partner for high school graduation, 13 years ago! So, I was honored that she asked me to take some updated family photos for her.
On Saturday, Nicole’s family braved the cold with me and we found some really beautiful light for them. It took little Baize a bit to warm up to the camera after waking from his nap, but when he did, we couldn’t keep him still! It’s so obvious that these children love their siblings like crazy and Nicole is such a great mom. Despite the cold, everyone had beautiful smiles that lit up the camera frame. And they’re naturals at posing!
