How to Organize & Print Last Year’s Photos Without the Overwhelm

Feeling overwhelmed by all the photos on your phone? Here’s a simple way to bring them to life.

Hey, friend.

Let me guess—you’ve got 7,642 photos on your phone right now (and somehow, 97% are of your kids and your dog). You keep meaning to print them, but every time you scroll, you get overwhelmed, close the app, and move on to the next thing on your to-do list.

I get it.

Life is a lot. But your memories?

They deserve to be seen, not buried in your camera roll.

Today, I’m sharing a small-step, no-stress guide to help you organize and print last year’s photos without the overwhelm.

Let’s turn that camera roll chaos into a cozy stack of printed memories you can actually flip through with your kids on a rainy afternoon.

Step 1: Pick a “sorting snack time”

Instead of trying to tackle your whole camera roll in one go (nope, we don’t have time for that), choose a manageable window—like 15 minutes while you drink your coffee or wait for your kids at practice. Each week, scroll back to the previous month of last year, and favorite the photos you love most. Don’t overthink it. If it makes you smile, favorite it.

Step 2: Create a “Print Me” album

Once you’ve favorited your photos, move them into a “Print Me” album in your phone. This will keep them in one place, so when you’re ready to print, you aren’t scrolling forever trying to find that one photo where everyone was actually looking at the camera.

Step 3: Choose how you want to print

Here’s where it gets fun.

Do you want a photo book to flip through with your kids? Prints for a memory box or a gallery wall? Or a family yearbook? There’s no wrong choice—just pick what feels easiest and most enjoyable for your season.

Some of my favorite services are:

✨ Chatbooks for quick, auto-printed books.

✨ Mpix or Smallwoods for beautiful prints.

✨ A local photo lab if you prefer in-person pickup. We love Perfect Image in Lancaster.

Step 4: Actually place the order

This is the step that trips most of us up. Set a reminder on your phone for “Photo Print Day,” and make it a mini event with tea and a cozy blanket. Remember, done is better than perfect.

Why this matters

Your photos are a reminder of how much love and life fills your days, even in the messy, chaotic moments. Printing them helps your kids feel seen, reminds you of the beauty in your everyday, and creates a tangible legacy they can hold onto.

Let’s not let these memories hide in your phone.
