Saying goodbye to a four-legged family member is a heartbreak that leaves a permanent hole in your heart; one that I’m all too familiar with. As an affiliate photographer for The Tilly Project, I have the honor of capturing precious moments between pet owners and their elderly or terminally ill pets. These sessions are a tribute to the bond shared and a way to preserve the memories of a lifetime. Recently, I had the privilege of photographing Sadie Mae, a sweet and loyal golden retriever, for her celebration of life session.

Meet Sadie Mae
Sadie Mae, affectionately known as Mae Mae, Sadie Girl, and Beauty Girl, is a 12-year-old golden retriever with a heart full of love. Her family describes her as sweet, loyal, and loving. Sadie’s journey with her family began when they rescued her at age 8, just before COVID-19 changed all our lives. From the moment she joined their home, she brought an abundance of joy and comfort, helping to lift their spirits during uncertain times.
A Lifetime of Love
Sadie Mae has always been a source of unconditional love for her family. Though she never mastered any tricks, her ability to steal hearts with her sweet disposition is unmatched. One of her favorite pastimes was stealing a stuffed Olaf toy and snuggling with it. She also developed a nightly routine of breaking into her son's room to sleep there, showcasing her deep bond with each family member.
Capturing Precious Moments
Upon arriving at their home, Sadie gave me happy smiles and a wagging tail. She reluctantly went outside with her family, where they had her favorite blanket and toys. After a few attempts to escape back indoors, she gave in to belly scratches, string cheese, and some welcome attention. Sadie Mae truly is the sweetest girl, and I loved spending time with her and her family.
During Sadie Mae’s celebration of life session, we focused on capturing the essence of her personality and the love she shares with her family. We shared laughter and tears as we documented her love for pets and snuggles. Although her walks have become less frequent due to limping, her spirit remains as strong and loving as ever.

Really liked how this post kept things simple and didn’t drag on — I could skim it and still get what the writer was trying to say. The tone felt pretty natural too, like someone explaining it to a friend instead of trying to sound fancy. I ended up clicking around https://newimage.io/ halfway through, and it gave me the same kind of clean, no-stress vibe. Stuff loads fast, and you don’t have to hunt around to figure out what’s going on. I’m also a sucker for pages that don’t cram everything into one giant wall of text. The way the content is spaced out makes it easy to stay oriented while scrolling. The headings are clear and the layout stays…
