A Bee Among the Wildflowers: Maddy’s Senior Session at Wildflower Lookout in Ronks, PA

Some stories feel like they were written by the universe—and Maddy’s senior session was one of them.

We met at Wildflower Lookout, which already felt meant to be. A golden-hour field full of blooms? The perfect setting for a girl nicknamed Bee.

Maddy floated through the flowers with such ease, pausing at each bloom like it had been waiting just for her. Her mom and two of her three brothers came along as her hype team. The way they supported her with quiet pride and playful teasing? My heart. You could feel the bond between them with every laugh.

We stopped at a patch of daisies and we found ourselves talking about Alice in Wonderland. A little Disney nostalgia between two fans in a field of flowers? Yes please. That whimsical, curious energy matched Maddy’s spirit perfectly.

Toward the end of the session, her entire family gathered around her. Not just for a group photo, but for a moment. That moment. The one where you realize this girl—this sweet, steady soul—is stepping into her next chapter with her people cheering her on.

Before we packed up, we captured something extra special: her 18th birthday tattoo. A cluster of flowers, each drawn by a family member, with a little bee buzzing above. A literal piece of her loved ones she carries with her always. Just like this day, and these photos, she’ll always have that reminder of where she comes from.

Getting to photograph Maddy—and share in her laughter, stories, and sweetness—was such a joy.
